Its very exhaustive, you can use it for reference. Get it from here: http://tinyurl.com/pfff2w
Also, read books by David Frawley to get a feel for it.

(Ayurvedic Healing: A Comprehensive Guide - David Frawley is a good one to start with)

Interestingly, anxiety is also caused by the same imbalance, which effects the back (high vata)

Re: If You Suffer with Back (or Neck) Pain, Read This…

Sweet. I have made dietary changes and follow Ayurvedic/Yoga concepts. One of the best things you can do for it is to apply sesame oil on the back/whole body (especially in winter). You may not need it summer but you need to careful of the cold. Sciatica is a symptom of too much accumulation of cold/light elements in your body. Since Sesame oil is heavy/hot, it counters it. This is how I fixed my back.

Re: If You Suffer with Back (or Neck) Pain, Read This…

All of the people I know who had back surgery regret it.

As far as Chiro goes I can say without a doubt that it cured a neck problem I had about 8 years ago. All the medical doctor did for me was tell me not to strain it and give me pain meds. This nagged me for about 2 years off and on and seemed to be getting worse.

The chiro used some kind of device to measure which vertebrate were out of whack, used a machine that gently tapped each side of the vertebrate and about 5-6 visits later it left and never returned since then.

CJ

Re: If You Suffer with Back (or Neck) Pain, Read This…

Be careful with chiropractics, AFAIK this is quakery:
http://www.skepdic.com/chiro.html

Correct exercise seems the way to go as your example suggests, Feldenkreis and Pilates are two systems that come to mind.

In all cases it would be good advice to go to a doctor, sometimes surgery is the only way out and if you have a serious back problem exercise may make it worse, so be careful.
